We believe life can be difficult and pain is unavoidable. We also believe it's worth it to invest in your own healing.

We believe people are experts on their own lives and aim to treat our clients' stories with respect and reverence. Our social work orientation utilizes the concept of "Person In Environment" and we acknowledge the role  of societal and interpersonal context in our clients' lived experiences. We operate out of an anti-oppressive framework that acknowledges the systems of power that impact our individual experiences. We envision therapy as a place to learn new skills and ways of seeing, a way to unlearn patterns that hurt us and those around us, and a space to take back power over the narratives that have dominated our lives. Therapy is a powerful tool for growth - especially when we are humble, honest, and willing to try new things - and we seek to model these traits within the therapeutic relationship.

Ali and all Breyta Counseling therapists hold each other accountable to learn about ourselves and the world around us in a new way and critically reflect on our own practice so that we can be the therapists our clients deserve.
